H (HT), diabetes mellitus (DM) and obesity are in the forefront of the epidemic of non-communicable diseases. Kearney PM et al estimated the global burden of hypertension a s 2 6 p e r c e n t o f t h e w o r l d adult population.1 In India, HT prevalence is 17 to 21 percent with marginal rural – urban difference.2 Percentage of Blood pressure (BP) goal achievers have increased from a 29 percent in 1988 to a more satisfying 50 percent in 2008.3 BP control is influenced by race and co-morbidities. Patients enrolled in health care plans have better BP control of upto 60 percent.
